TERMTONETERMINAL SOUNDBOARD
BUILT FOR
DEVS WHO FEEL
THE TERMINAL.
Six core audio systems that turn your silent shell into a reactive, sensory-rich coding environment. Every trigger is configurable.
Typewriter Keystrokes
Every character you type fires a satisfying mechanical click — IBM Model M, Cherry MX Blue, or a vintage Underwood. Configure velocity sensitivity for realism.
AI Phase Detection
TermTone listens to your AI agent's output stream. When a reasoning phase completes, a distinct chime fires — so you know without looking at the screen.
YES / NO Prompt Alerts
When your AI or script pauses for a Y/N confirmation, a unique alert tone plays. Never miss a blocking prompt buried in a long output again.
Output Complete Bell
A configurable completion sound fires when a full AI response or command output finishes streaming. Old-school terminal bell — reimagined and beautiful.
Error & Warning Sounds
Distinct audio for stderr, warnings, and exit codes. A short buzz for non-zero exits, a low thud for fatal errors. Know immediately when something breaks.
12-Pad Custom Soundboard
Assign any sound to any event. 12 programmable pads, each with its own trigger, volume, and pitch. Map to keystrokes, regex patterns, or terminal states.
PRESS A PAD
OR YOUR KEYS
The CLI on this page is still a concept. This board is the part that runs: 12 sounds synthesised live in your browser with Web Audio, no audio files.
THREE COMMANDS.
THAT'S IT.
Install in 30 Seconds
One command sets up the TermTone daemon and hooks it into your shell profile. Works with zsh, bash, and fish.
Configure Your Pads
Edit the generated TOML config. Assign sounds to triggers, set volume per-pad, and map custom regex patterns to any audio event.
Launch & Listen
Start your terminal session as normal. TermTone runs silently in the background and fires audio on every configured event.
ONE PRICE.
EVERYTHING.
FOREVER.
Pay once. Own it forever. Every future sound pack, AI trigger update, and platform release is included at no extra cost.

ASKED
The soundboard on this page. All 12 sounds are synthesised live with the Web Audio API from oscillators, noise and filters, with no audio files. The CLI, the daemon and the output detection described here are the plan. They aren't built yet.
As a small daemon next to your shell. It would read terminal output through a PTY (pseudo-terminal) wrapper, the same mechanism tmux and iTerm2 use, so your terminal works exactly as before, just louder.
That's the plan, and there's no model involved. 'AI phase detection' means spotting the phases of an AI CLI's output with regex patterns and output-stream heuristics: reasoning phases, YES/NO prompts and finished responses, whichever tool you run.
That's planned. The idea is a TOML config where any .wav or .mp3 can go on any pad, each with its own volume, pitch and trigger pattern. The soundboard here builds its 12 sounds in code instead.
There are no numbers yet, because the daemon isn't built. The plan is to play cues through CoreAudio on macOS and ALSA or PulseAudio on Linux, and keep the daemon idle until it has something to play.
No subscription. Ever. One payment of $9 and TermTone is yours permanently. Lifetime means every version update, every new sound pack, every new AI trigger — included at no extra cost, forever.
macOS and Linux come first. WSL2 is planned after that, then native Windows through PowerShell.
